A Family Adventure: The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens (Age 3yr +)
Explorers will encounter unique wildlife from arid regions worldwide, including majestic big cats, fascinating reptiles, and desert-dwelling birds. Stroll through vibrant botanical gardens filled with native desert plants and exotic flora. Also, don’t miss the unforgettable experience of feeding friendly giraffes! The Palm Springs Zoo offers an unforgettable adventure and a deeper understanding of the world’s diverse ecosystems.
The Rio Hondo Nature Program is for Pico Rivera residents ONLY and is geared towards youth ages 3-17.
A maximum of 5 participants are allowed per household.
NOTE: To provide opportunities for new participants, individuals who have previously attended a Living Desert Zoo excursion through the Rio Hondo Nature Program will be removed from registration to allow others the opportunity to participate.
The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens
- Registration is FREE & will begin on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 AT 9AM!
- Trip Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026
- Time: 6:45am-5:30pm
- Ages 3-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Departure/Arrival Location: Pico Park, 9528 Beverly Blvd..
- Bus will depart promptly at 7AM and will be returning approximately at 5:30PM
- Lunch will be provided to participants of the trip.
- The Rio Hondo Nature Program is for Pico Rivera residents only and is aimed at the youth and their families.
- Registration Deadline: Friday, October 2, 2026, or until full.
- Space is LIMITED!
- Registered participants who do not attend, will not be applicable for future trips for the Rio Hondo Nature Program and will be charged a no-show fee of $20.
