A Family Adventure: San Diego Safari
Unleash your wild side at the San Diego Safari Park, where you’ll encounter animals from around the globe in expansive, natural habitats and ecosystems! Journey through open plains, and come face-to-face with elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and more on this thrilling safari adventure. With immersing experiences, conservation exhibits, and behind-the-scenes tours, all visits support wildlife protection efforts.
This excursion is designed as a family-focused experience intended to provide opportunities for resident families with youth to participate together.
To qualify, the following criteria must be met:
- Must be a Pico Rivera Resident
- Max of 5 people per household, with no more than 2 adults
- Adults may not register without a child aged 5-17
- Must not have attended prior years
All participants must be registered, such as: Parents, Guardians, caretakers, and children to attend trip.
Registered participants who do not attend will not be eligible for future trips for the Rio Hondo Nature Program and will be charged a no-show fee of $20.

- Time: 6:30am - 6:30pm (Check-in by 6:00 am).
- Ages: 5-17. This is a Family Excursion. Limit 2 adults per child. Adult registration is only allowed with a registered child.
- Guided open air truck - Must stay with group for the tour.
- Departure/Arrival Location: Pico Park, 9528 Beverly Blvd., Pico Rivera, CA 90660
- Registration Deadline May 15, 2026, or until Full.
- Lunch will be provided.
- The Rio Hondo Nature Program is for Pico Rivera residents only and is aimed at the youth and their families.
- Registered participants who do not attend will not be eligible for future trips for the Rio Hondo Nature Program and will be charged a no-show fee of $20.
